But it looks as if 2024 will finally be the year of the return to Formula 1 for Shanghai. Japan is being brought forward in the season from Round 18 to Round 4, just before China. This is to support regionalisation and minimise carbon emissions associated with travelling and putting on international sporting events. A bumper 24-race season The 75th Formula One World Championship promises to be the most intense yet as a record-breaking 24 F1 Grand Prix will be held. This will out extra strain on the drivers and teams, required even more stamina than ever before. Throw in Sprint races, injuries, weather and anything else than can happen on a Formula 1 race day, and a dramatic season is all but guaranteed. Classic tracks, such as Imola and the Shanghai International Circuit return to the calendar after cancellations in previous years.
This event will take place on March 2 and marks the earliest start to a season since 1992. The Grand Prix will take place on a Saturday to accommodate Ramadan. This race will also take place on a Saturday. The fourth Grand Prix of the season will take place in Japan. To help with the travelling situation, this event has been moved in the calendar year and is now linked into a double-header with the Australian Grand Prix. The Miami Grand Prix is scheduled to take place two weeks later. It is back on the 2024 F1 calendar and will take place on the 19th May. This is the first event of the season in Europe. The weekend in Canada will be sandwiched between off weeks.

The Spanish, Austrian and British Grands Prix take place on consecutive weekends, while the final six races of the year take place in the space of seven weeks. Three Saturday races on 2024 Formula 1 calendar For the first time since 1982, the first race of the 2024 Formula 1 season will take place on a Saturday. The first two races of the year — in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia — will both take place on Saturdays in early March. The decision to move these races to Saturday has been taken to accommodate Ramadan. The inaugural race on the Las Vegas Strip is set to be held in November 2023. It will be the first season since 1982 in which three races have taken place on a Saturday.

Each race can only happen thanks to the collaboration between the FIA, FOM, the promoters, and the host ASNs who bring together the thousands of volunteer marshals and support personnel so that we can go racing, and as we forge ahead into the future we must ensure that our priorities grow and develop with the needs of society and what is best for our sport, our fans and our environment. There is huge interest and continued demand for Formula 1, and I believe this calendar strikes the right balance between traditional races and new and existing venues. Formula 1 has scheduled 24 races which will take place between March and December 2024. The series should have reached that record number of races in 2023, however two rounds were cancelled due to reasons out of its control.

The Saudi Arabian GP has been moved to accommodate that and because you have to have seven days between event, that means the Bahrain GP is also on a Saturday. That is to cut down on the carbon footprint F1 makes. Most significantly there we are talking about the heavy equipment and sea freight which will move between those venues.
The other two triple headers end the season. I think the calendar is better shaped than in previous years. There is a gap in September and October as well noticeably between Grands Prix, there is still the August break.
